- How much can we expect to spend for a Prestige Panel house?
- Answer:
- Construction costs, including the installation of an insulation of type R-20, are relatively comparable with those of a traditional 2 inches by 6 inches wood frame structure house with mineral wool insulation. The thermal properties’ output however remains superior with a panel construction. As for leftover fees (pluming, electricity, roofing…) they are the same as conventional costs.

- Is it approved by the Canada or the ministry’s building code?
- Answer:
- Yes, tests have been done and approved in 1992 by ASTM E-72-80 as well as published in 1993 by CCMC-12 all tests are under reevaluation.
- Question:
- What is the fireproof capacity of the panel’s cover?
- Answer:
- The foam’s capacity is of class 1 as stated by ULC tests.

- Yes, the first one is free, afterwards 50.00$ per hour fees will be charged.

- On average 50 panels, depending on the habitable surface’s square footage.

- Answer:
- According to the building code it is possible to build up to 3 floors without a structure.
- Question:
- As a superior insulation reduces the building’s breathing, what should we do?
- Answer:
- As for any conventional construction, the law requires that 10% of the habitable surface must be of doors or windows as well as 3% for an occupied basement apartment. Moreover, an air exchanger is mandatory.
- Question:
- Why doesn’t a Prestige Panel house need to be steam proof?
- Answer:
- A stem proof house allows avoiding water infiltration as well as eliminating humidity. It is useless because the OSB already contains glue that offers this kind of protection. Conventional uses tyvex, but as of 2006, Prestige Panel will use injected paraffin on the panel.
